There are many new accommodation projects in Finland
04/02/2022
In November 2021 a total of 55,417 hotel rooms were available in Finland, according to Statistics Finland 4,757 more than a year earlier. And there is more to come.
The capital of Lapland, Rovaniemi, counts 2 accommodation projects that were finalized in December. The Arctic SnowHotel is available for bookings from mid-December until the end of March. As the name and the limited opening time suggest, this hotel is made of real snow and ice. The guests sleep in sleeping bags in a constant room temperature between 0 and -5 ºC, even in extremely cold weather. At the checkout you will receive a diploma on spending the night in arctic conditions!
And something less perishable: The Apukka Resort in Rovaniemi introduced new glass-roofed Kammi suites with a 360º sky view and larger Kammi Family Suites with a bigger kitchen, two bedrooms in a lakeside location. The property is situated in the embrace of two remote lakes at the edge of unspoilt wilderness.
Located 25 minutes from Rovaniemi international airport in the middle of 400+ secluded hectares of pristine Arctic forest, Octola Private Wilderness inaugurated the Arctic region’s first luxury spa and health clinic at the beginning of the year. The first five-star accommodation in the Nordics with a negative carbon footprint expanded their facilities by three different pool settings and two saunas including an outdoor winter sauna built from illuminated ice blocks.
In the vicinity of Kemi, the 1926 built Juopperi Manor (information in Finnish) was reborn last summer as a countryside hotel. The 17 carefully renovated rooms are divided into forest and river rooms depending on the views, so pick your favorite!
