Happy mood!
Year after year, Finland and Helsinki tops the world Happiness index. In Helsinki, we enjoy simple pleasures: clean air, pure water, relaxing sauna, unique food, walking around in the woods and seashore, experiencing various events, enjoying design in everyday life. Helsinki Happiness is the calm and peaceful type; it’s an appreciation for how things work and the ability to pause and admire the little things in life. Helsinki is a place where everyone’s free to be themselves.
Mesmerizing, authentic moments in the Northernmost Lapland. We would like to invite you to 'once in the lifetime' experience in Lapland: See the beauty of nature, hear the silence of the fells, feel the magic of the colourful autumn, encounter authentic culture and explore the wilderness. Welcome to find your true nature in Lapland North!
AUTUMNAL NORTHERN LIGHT SEASON
The Northern Lights are visible on around 200 nights a year in Finnish Lapland. In Rovaniemi, the spellbinding astral show can be witnessed in and around the city from late August until early April. In Rovaniemi, you don’t have to walk far from the city centre to find a good spot, and really strong Auroras can be seen even with interference from artificial light.
WHITE NIGHTS AND MIDNIGHT SUN
The Midnight Sun is a natural phenomenon that takes place on and above the Arctic Circle in the summer months. On the Arctic Circle, where Rovaniemi lies, the sun officially stays above the horizon for a full 24 hours on summer solstice, 21st or 22nd June. However, the Midnight Sun period in Rovaniemi lasts for a month, from 6th June to 7th July; this is due to the Earth’s slightly tilted axis and refraction of sunlight.
Those coming from US will have Helsinki extension for 08-09 September.
