Visit in the UNESCO World Heritage Site Verla
During a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Verla Groundwood and Board Mill you can relive early history of the forest industry and the workers life in a small village: the original mill buildings and machinery with the 19th century methods, the mill owner's residence, the surrounding area and the idyllic worker's cottages as well as the Verla rapids and its power plants.
The mill museum - Verla groundwood and board mill can only be visited as part of a guided tour. Tour guides bring the museum to life with stories about the mill.
In summer, the restaurant, the village workshops and boutiques are a further attraction. There are also exhibitions and a history walk - a short route with information in the world heritage area. You can also relax on a 2km forest trail.
The Verla World Heritage Site includes a total of 16 accommodation options, each telling its own story from the past. More information and reservations www.verlanmokit.fi
